Talking Hey all, 2009 MT Fit Sport

Hey fellow fit freaks! I've been a lurker for a few years now on and off after I picked up my silver Sport w/ Nav three years ago. Apart from the accord horn upgrade I haven't done all that much . Recently, I plastidipped the front and back H and 'Fit' logos which I think looks better as I wasn't a big fan of the chrome look. I am planning on doing a bunch of mods now that the summer is over and I'll be getting paid again. (teacher here)

Not big into speed rather appearance & tunes. What I'm looking at is mainly tint, tunes, and drop. I have very little experience working on cars besides basic maintenance, so I figure I'll be learning a lot and screwing things up or paying $$$ to get a shop to do it.

Anything cool you've done or learned let me know!

Thanks

I'm real happy with the 15% tint I had professionally applied to all glass behind the B pillars, and the darkest tint the shop had added as a windshield bar coming down to the bottom of my rearview mirror bracket. In CA it's illegal to tint a windshield or the front driver and passenger windows, except if they come tinted (lightly) from the factory...they want te CHP to be able to see what's going on in the front of the car. behind the driver's door windows anything goes...you could even have all the glass painted over with opaque black, as long as you have 2 functional side mirrors.

The 15% (allows 15% of visible light to come through) is dark but not that extreme, I can still make out cars behind me, and at night the cars headlights behind me. But it's hard to stand outside the car and make sense of anything inside, which means I don't worry about not having a cargo cover in the back.

I'm a teacher too! First, JDP front lip. You can take off your bumper and do it yourself, using the resources on this forum, and some patiences. While the bumper is off, black out the headlights or replace them w/ 2012 lights. Also, I always thought the guys who said go coilover instead of springs were full of s#$t. However, it's one of my favorite mods + rims. Crutchfiield saved my a bunch of cash in regards to tunes, and you can do the jdm hazard button whiile you're in there....it's a slippery slope.
