Question Intake Help

Alright, I'm looking into intake systems. I know the basics of them, how they work, what types there are, so on and so forth, but I can't seem to find any site that has intakes for my 2010 Fit sport.

I was looking into intakes and stumbled upon a thread on this site. The one that caught my attention was the T1R b-max intake, but I can't seem to find one along with it's details and reviews, neither can I find one for the 2nd Generation Fit. Although, people on this site have great experience with the T1R, i'm just looking to see my other options out there before I decide to get this one. I just want my intake is that so hard to ask?!

I've been looking around for a few days now like you.

Do u have an AT or MT? There is even less of a selection for an AT.

The more you learn about intakes the more learn how true dsm and kenchans reply are. Unless you have a larger bore tb. Port matched head, full exhaust and something like an ecu reflash there isn't much point in intaking more air as the car can't use it. Buy a dropin filter if anything

If you are feeling mechanically inclined just build your own. I think I did mine for around $60 and it sounds pretty good.

Or if you are dead set on paying big money for one just look for one that says it works on a GE8 Fit.

I wish I could remember where I saw this, but some guy used the OEM intake from a 09+ Civic SI and put it on a Fit. Let me do some digging. Looked pretty damn good.

Dude definatly make your own. Forget paying for the research and development, quality products/work. Don't worry that the people who designed your motor also designed the stock airbox for it as well as the ecu. Just pop off the stock box and put some nylons over the hole. Bro hp you can't imagine. This is the secret no one wants to share!!!

I got one of these: PRM Jet Stream? Intake Systems - Products Page

Not sure that it does anything for performance, but it sure does sound nice.

Ahh thanks for all the feed back! I was thinking of just keeping stock, but I want a couple more horses and a better sound.

I don't think I trust myself enough to build my own intake haha, I wish I could. I'll keep searching around for a bit. I might just end up keeping it stock and start researching other means of getting more power.

Also, the Nylons....I'm not sure I would feel about having nylons as a intake? Haha. I don't know, the sound of it just seems a bit off to me, rather than using an actual intake. But you know what people say " Don't knock it till' you try it"

I'm pretty sure they're just yankin' your chain. Wouldn't do much to keep dirt out of the engine.

I removed the cover between the main filter housing and the master cylinder by removing the two 8mm bolts and gained some intake noise, added a few extra horses and much better throttle response.

This "mod" doesn't throw any mass-air sensor faults and all the air now going into the 4"x4" opening is still filtered air, so no debris in the intake/engine.

I tried it, and it works.

Total cost $0 and 2 mins of my time.
