2010 base. I'd love to put 16" alloys on it when time for tires comes around (was gonna say "rolls around" but that would have been a bad pun, so I didn't say it).
I can't find any for anything like an affordable (to me) price. Anybody got a recommendation? I know, I know, you get what you pay for, but still...

Try wheels next, discount tire direct, or tire rack.

Or you could buy theevilone's (There's random capitalization there, IDK where) Work Emotion XD9 for around 1k.
You'll find no better deal.
Then use the stocks for winter weather, if you get that wherever you are.

OP, what are your requirements for wheels and tires? You can definintely get something decent for under $1k but be ready to pay a local place to transfer the TPMS over (around $100 for mounting /balancing 8 wheels)
As others suggested, Craigslist is a good place to get decent wheels/tires.

When I wanted a fifth wheel (for a real spare) I found one that's a non-OEM but looks the same, it was around $110. On eBay from a seller called Tobacco Road. It's been on my car for 12,000 miles with no problems.
Two things to note:
1. At least around here (NYC) the people selling Fit alloy rims on Craigslist were all suspicious like they stole the wheels (not one of them actually owned a Fit).
2. If you're searching on-line, Honda has a second type of rim that's actually a bit less expensive that they describe as seven spoke, vs. fourteen spoke. It does not look the same and it's easy to make a mistake and buy that by accident.

Craigslist isn't a good resource for me, as I live in a very rural, middle of nowhere area far from any major metro area. Not a lot of Fits around here.
May just be happy with the 15" tires with the plastic wheel covers...

The Nice thing about the FIT is that they use the same bolt pattern as the 2006 or earlier civic and any generation of the integra so you should have plenty of options if you search craigslist for civic Wheels or Integra wheels. That's how I ended up with Alloys for my Fit as snow tires. I drove about 150 miles round trip to pick up my wheels (got to go to a mall we visit occasionally too) but it was worth the journey. My Civic Alloys were $50 + the trade of a Strut tower brace (Probably under $100 in value). I had to be patient though and just keep searching every other day until something I liked came up. I passed by a number of other wheels because I didn't want to spend so much for winter wheels.

You can also run a mini cooper wheel or first gen scion xB. I love my jcw wheels. +1 for Craigslist. And $100 in gas gets me from Tampa to North Carolina and back, hopefully you can source something closer than that!

if you're going to be cheap, leave it stock. best would be to get factory sport wheels with tires and leave the rest stock.
many people (yah, ive seen too much) end up getting shitty cheap wheels with wrong offsets using their existing tires...and make their car look rediculous.
basically if one's going aftermarket wheels/tires, you will have to lower your ride unless you can find a ET50 set of wheels somewhere.

Go to discounttiredirect and peruse their wheels and prices. You can easily get alloys for about $100 each. Check ebay and tirerack, too. check fitment to make sure clears calipers and hub bore.Try to stay at 45 mm offset.

Lifted? meaning what?
45 mm offset means the centerline of the wheel, and thus tire, is sufficiently inside the fender so that the tire with close to stock tire diameter will fit withiout rubbing yet the tire is close to the fender.
45 mm is 8 or 9 mm (about 3/8" of an inch) pushed out from the stock wheel. To see what it looks like put 3/8" of washers on each wheel lug
behind the wheel and tighten the lug nuts but DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR.
But you can see what it will look like.
