car covers
Other than the OEM Honda covers are there any car covers that people have tried that fit reasonably well and they would recommend. I like the Honda ones but $180 seems a little pricey.

In the past I've used Covercraft Covercraft on three different vehicles. They have a number of different types based on your environment. Seeing you are in Oakland, you may be able to get away with a less expensive material than I needed for Massachusetts. See their website for an idea of prices. They run anywhere from ~$85 to more than $200. They also have a good comparison of materials Car Cover Fabrics Comparison - Covercraft
One thing to be aware of is that for everyday use, it is somewhat of a nuisance to be continuously installing and removing the cover, although after awhile you'll be able to accomplish the whole operation in a couple of minutes. I found the cover useful when I was in the Air Force and needed to leave my car outside for extended periods while deployed.
