Climate control broken

On Sunday, my climate control decided to stop working on me. The temperature control (hot/cold) still works but the fan control only works in the highest mode. Anyone have this problem? My car's still under 3 years and 36k so I'm hoping Honda will replace it for me.

Ontop of that, there seems to be weird buzzing sound coming from the fan behind the glove compartment. These two problems seemed to happened at the same time.

Just wondering if anyone's experienced this and if Honda replaced it for them under warranty.

yah, my 09 had the same problem. there is a TSB for it, but should've been fixed by your 2011 model.

your blower fan might have caught something too which can overload the system.
take it in.

They updated the TSB to include all 2010s, and
2011 Fit - From VIN JHMGE8...B5000001 thru JHMGE8...B5000012
2011 Fit -From VIN JHMGE8...BC000001 thruJHMGE8...BC012605*

Regardless, the basic point is right. It should be a gratis fix.

Appreciate the information guys! I'll call my local Honda dealership. Sucks that I'm rolling up on the 30k mark too... They'll probably end up trying to sell me a tuneup for $400 bucks, LOL!

Yea, not planning on going for it. Most of the work I can do myself. LOL!

EXACTLY what happened to my CR-V, a handful of pine needles broke loose and bogged the fan motor momentarily and that was all it took to take out the Blower Resistor, leaving me with High Speed only.

Are you sure that that first set is B5000012? I own BS000012 and I had the resistor pack die on me, it was replaced under warentee.

Just double checked it, it has to be an S since B is the model year (A is 10, B is 11) and the following letter (S or C) is the factory. So cool! My car is currently setting the range for the Suzaka factory fits.

I just copied from the tsb link at the top. I wouldn't guarantee the data, just copied the info. It might be wrong, but that's what the link said.

Bingo! This problem is nothing unique to the Fit or Honda. Every manual blower fan speed control since the beginning of them (1940's?) use a resistor pack, so, when it fails, only high speed works. If under 3yr/36k miles, its covered.

the problem is replacing just the resistor does not completely fix the problem. the root cause is the blower.

the tsb replaces both the resistor and the blower.
