need advice: dealing with water inside headlamp

Hey Guys/Gals

I noticed a fair amount of water in my passenger side headlight after I took it to a car wash. Drove around with my lights on and it reduced a bit but today its looking the same as yesterday, making me think its condensation.

I'm about to pick up my air compressor from a friend and blow it out after removing the bulb but wanted to know how did it get in there.

-I never opened the headlights

-I felt around for openings or wet areas and felt none.

-I checked the boot around the bulb and it was dry

Any advice would be appreciated. Its minor but annoying....

maybe the seal behind the bulb is cracked or loose

I had this issue in the past on another car, I found the leak, sealed it with silicone, then drilled a tiny hole in an inconspicuous place on the bottom of the h/l and left it like that until it dried out. Then I plugged that hole with some silicone.

Size: 1.04 MBI just did an HID projector retrofit and ended up with some condensation. It was easy to remove the condensation. First, I removed all three bulbs (for the condensation to escape). Then I attached a 1" length of rubber hose (3/8" rubber fuel hose or whatever) to the end of my compressor blow tip (pencil/adjustable style) and just opened it a crack to let a small amount of air through which I placed in the lowest, I believe its the turn signal, bulb hole. I checked on it now and then and within 30 minutes, all the condensation was gone. I did not force any water out and just used the air movement to slowly dry out the condensation. I would try and figure out where the water got in. If its from the housing, i definitely would take it back to the Honda dealership to repair/replace.

Are we all sure the housing doesn't just have a little vent hole?

I know for sure, two of my aftermarket headlight housings (for different cars) had vent holes (tiny tubes that protrude out and point down). I never really bothered to check with OE housings though.

Yes there is a vent but no tube. It is a small black plastic cap with a flexible rubber insert to keep water out. It is not a drain hole

Never said it was a drain.
