I keep accidentally turning on my high beams.
I keep accidentally turning on my high beams.
I've had my Fit for a little over a year now and the only thing I don't like other than the lack of a trunk is that it is too easy to accidentally turn on the high beams, and the indicator that they're on is hidden behind the steering wheel. I've already gotten an expensive ticket for this.
Is there a way to easily replace the spring in the switch in that direction only?
Also, the cat peed all over my manual package. Do you think that the dealer would give me another one?

Adjust your steering wheel for the indicator and hand positions for the high beams. How are you bumping the high beam so that it stays on? The Stalk is pretty far back.
As for the manual, you can go online to your Honda Ownerlink and access the manual from there. if you feel like it, you can print it out too. Probably easier to put it on a smartphone if you have one.

Oh boy. First, I assume you are not actually stupid, which seems in general a fair assumption to think that most people have some level of intelligence. So my advice is to pay more attention.
1) Adjust your wheel so you can see the dash
2) Stop turning on the high beams. It's a switch. You control it.
3) Adjust your mirrors properly. Your side mirrors should be positioned so you can juuuust see the edge of the car if you tilt your head towards the side. If you can see the side of the car, you have left a blind spot outboard of what you can see. You didn't mention the mirrors, but I'm certain you don't have them adjusted properly.
4) Did you not notice the Fit doesn't have a trunk?
5) Keep your cat out of the glove box.
Other notes just to stay ahead of the game since I assume these will be your questions in the next year :P
You change the oil when the MM gets to 15%, not when the dealer tells you.
The car is advertized as getting 33mpg highway. Getting 28 combined is normal. Getting 40mpg is not a fair thing to expect.
Yes, the car is a bit loud on the highway.
A small amount of valve noise is normal.
The seats make some people's back uncomfortable, others love them.
It is normal for the torque converter to lock and unlock on the highway.
.. did I miss anything?
If you're wondering OP I'm not intending to pick on you, I'm just feeling a big cynical this AM.

Cut him some slack as he is a cat owner so somewhat deficient. I always keep one lashed to the exhaust for those snack breaks.
Wow! Don't know if this OP is for real.
2 posts in a year then a variation of "dog ate my homework."
It's up there with changing oil by draining the A/T fluid.
Apologies if this is a real concern OP. Others have already answered.

Came here to say that, this is how I feel every time I log in here.
OP you are the product of billions of years of evolution, f*cking act like it.

Come on guys, cut the OP some slack; when was the last time a cat peed all over your "manual package"? Yeah, that's what I thought ... a bit of compassion for the OP please.
There... some substance. So logging in isn't so bad. I think the OP is gone. Probably traded it in, which is a typical smart move. This might as well get hijacked.
I do have to say I don't like the light switches on the fit compared to older hondas and current nissans. They used to have a flat front or back making them easier to switch from the stearing wheel without moving your hands. Now the entirely round arm offers less control.
Sometimes I have turned the highbeams on without noticing at first too.

OP isnt firing on all cylinders...I dont quite know why i even look at this board anymore. These questions make me think that the OP's are 12 year olds sitting behind the wheel of a car in the dealer showroom waiting for their parents.
Actually, I've also driven around with the high beams or fog lights on without realizing it. That's because the dash icons are not very representative of which light pair is on, and because the high beams output as much light as a normal car's REGULAR LIGHTS.
