hey, i looked around and couldn't find an answer... does anyone know if the frames are the same for the older ge8's to the 2012? like if i bought the headlights and fenders and bumper would they be a direct fit?

The "frames" are the same, but there may be some body panel differences. The fit of the front fenders and grilles are different between 2011 and 2012, at least in Canada on the Chinese-assembled Canadian Fits. Buy from a reliable source and specify your year.

 

This applies to ALL USDM GEs.

Bumper and upper grille:

-Base model: pre-2012 and 2012+ are interchangeable

-Sport: pre-2012 and 2012+ are interchangeable ONLY if you swap BOTH at the same time.

Headlights and fenders: ALL interchangeable.

 

so when you say they are interchangeable, do you mean they are
the same either years? or are you saying you can switch them with
the other years? Sorry, just trying to get a clear answer.

 

In this case, I meant that which ever year you buy, you can fit on any year. You should already know that the bumper (and grille) for pre-2012 and 2012+ ARE DIFFERENT, even though they'll fit. edit: Bernardi lists different part #s for the fender liner (the black plastic that forms the wheel well)... so that might need to be matched to the bumper also.

But, in the case of the Base... it's actually the same, there's no change for the base bumper/grille pre/post 2012.

The headlights are different from between pre-2012 Base vs pre-2012 Sport vs all post 2012 Fits... but only in the trim color. So, practically speaking, they're the same.
