New Boots

I've a 2010 base model and the stock 175/65/15 tires FINALLY went bare so I put some Yokohama YK580 195/60/15s on it and it's like driving a new car. I didn't know I was driving a Toyota Tercel for the first 30,000 miles of my car. I'm not sure if I'm more excited about driving a terrific handling car or more upset with Honda with putting such heinous tires on their new cars. Either way, the Yokohama YK580 is terrific. Can't say enough good things about them.

Agreed, congrats on the upgrade, those stock tires are laughable, especially on the base model. It does indeed feel like a different car without them.

Here's a dumb question. Does changing the tire size to 195/60/15 change the accuracy of the speedometer and odometer?

175/65/15 diameter = 23.96"
195/60/15 diameter = 24.21"

Therefore, there will be a minimal effect upon the speedo and odometer, but I believe the effect will be negligible because 0.25" variation in diameter is considered well within normal limits. Experts will correct me if I'm wrong.

Speedo reading will be around 1.1% slower... when speedo reads 60 mph he will actually be traveling 60.6 mph

Like he said, extremely minimal difference

Thumbs up 195/60 upgrade - YES!

I recently replaced all 4 of my original tires (I guess you could call them that, but they were nothing but garbage!) with TOYO Versado LXII 195/60/15s. I have a good friend that owns a couple of shops, and he got them for me at his cost. It does feel like driving a completely different car. The traction on wet and dry pavement is excellent, smooth, and tight. We had snow, too, around Christmas, which accumulated on the streets, and these tires took me right through it with NO problems at all. If I'd had the old tires on the car, I would have been in major trouble in any amount of snow. My friend told me that going with 195/60s is perfect for the Fit. I will never go back to anything else.

This is good info. Has your immediate turn-in suffered at all?
