clarification on GE8/9 engine

it says in wiki that L15A7 is "Eligible for the Formula F Championship Series"

may i know why? what's special about this engine?

i've seen couple of positive feedbacks regarding this engine, is this the "modernized" version of D15B?

i bought this car and found out that the engine seems pretty good in terms of performance and reliability, am i correct? ofcourse every engine has its downside but in its class, does it really performs?

used to be a D16zc and b16a user

Light, fuel efficient, cheap, low emissions, reliable, and lobbying.

As for technical differences and innovations with this particular series, and iteration of the L15, some other members could probably help better than I could. I know there have been quite a few refinements made to an already refined engine. Might be one of the best little sohc vtecs ever. Time will tell. I think we are at the end of this style of gasoline engine though, with direct injection on the rise.

thanks for the feedback..

as for the L15a7 automatic transmission? is it the standard automatic-manual transmission with torque converter? any idea how fast the shifting is when in sports mode? coz when in sports mode shifting gears has a slight delay but still relatively fast compared to other traditional clutchless manual.
