What are the differences between 2012 and 2013?

It seems like in Honda released the 2013 model with plum as a new color, for the same price. Were there any changes between the two models? What compelling reasons are there to buy a brand new 2013, if a brand new 2012 model can be found?

IMO any vehicle from a previous model year is only worth the used book value. Unfortunately the dealer can't sell it for that number unless he get's assistance from the factory.

Since "new" prices aren't that different from one model year to the next a buyer should get the current model year.

As others have hinted at, there are no differences between the two model years aside from the color and the year labels. There are no mechanical or equipment changes. Which one makes more sense to get depends on what sort of deals you can manage and what your intentions are for keeping the car.

When I was checking prices through a buying service two weeks ago, the 2012 Honda Fit Sport was $3 more than the 2013 Honda Fit Sport. There were no incentives listed for either one, so for future value I went with the 2013. And not the plum one, lol!

I bought a 2012 because they chopped $2600 off msrp on my 12' so it was worth buying the 12'.

Although i know 2014 Fit models will be built in Mexico where most of the current CRV's are built, i did not see any 2013 Fits built in USA. When i was shopping for Fits both the 2012 and 2013 were still made in Sayama Japan.

True there are no major differences between the 2012 and 2013 model. I needed a brand new car since my old 2001 wasn't cutting it anymore, and also just felt like I wanted the newer model just because-- It's my first brand new car purchase ~

Yeah, I would have jumped all over that! FL dealers display extreme vacuum qualities. Well, I did find one that wasn't too bad

I'm guessing the factory is moving production because of the relative strength of the Yen. They've been taking a huge beating from the value of the Yen against the Dollar. They're probably not making much profit from sales of the Fit and moving production to Mexico should help change that.

Was at a lot the other day and happened to look inside a '13 just to see if there was anything different.
First and only thing I noticed is that the radio-surround section and the upper glove box door are a darker shade of grey....instead of the siliver'ish look in my '10.

Also noticed that the upper glove box door stills doesn't line up right after all these years....

I actually like the darker looking plastic though.

Our '12 CRV was assembled in East Liberty, Ohio. I know some are assembled in Japan but haven't seen one from Mexico.

2015 model to be built in Mexico

Honda Fit Photos, Prices, Reviews, Specs - The Car Connection

The current generation Fit's last year is most likely 2014, with a new Honda Fit to be rolled out--and built in Mexico--for the 2015 model year. The next generation Honda Fit will become a range of models, including not only the five-door hatchback but also a four-door sedan and a small crossover to compete with vehicles like the Nissan Juke and Mini Cooper Countryman. That latter model was previewed by a concept shown at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show in January 2013.

None of the 2012+ CR-V is made in Japan(USA offered models) as far as i know, only the previous 2011 and older gens were a mixed bag between Canada and Japan. About 80% + of the later 2012 and 2013 CR-V model is built in Mexico. Here is how to tell, ALL vin# that starts with a

"3" is Mexico,
"2" is Canada,
"5" is USA - Alabama,
"19" is USA - Ohio,
"J" is Japan
