Scroll down to the Fit Trix section and Fit Photo section. Many have posted DIY tips and engine bay pictures there.

It comes stock with some cold intake: the plastic duct on the underside of the hood (bonnet?) routes cooler air from the grill to the back of the engine bay.

The only mods I've seen are to remove the stock airbox/filter and replace it with shiny pipes and an exposed air filter element. More noise and bling, but not more cool air.

The stock air box is a cold-air intake. The air inlet is in the coolest place in the engine bay, and air from outside the engine bay is blown directly to the air box inlet by the scoop under the front edge of the hood. On a hot summer day in California or in Singapore, there is no cold air, just air that is slightly cooler than the atmosphere under the hood.

^What these guys said

It's already got "ram-air" stock.

If you change anything change the whole intake, but any extra power you get will not be from changes in air temp, and it won't last long as the ECU adjusts the gains out.

Honda did a good job on the stock intake.

The intake draws incoming air at 90 degrees from the air flow from the hood scoop. This is NOT "ram air", just as downshifting your trans. is not "overdrive".

Aw yeah, you're right, it pulls air from the fender. I never actually looked much at it and thought it came from the bottom

Well it's "cold air" anyway.

If you really want extra power, a drop in higher flow filter is best. Dont have to worry about piping size or anything, stock is matched perfectly to a stock motor. Just keep in mind, most filters that flow more usually filter LESS.

And by extra power, I mean 0.01 horsepower added

Get used to it. This is a public forum after all and not an engineering white paper tech reference site. Everyone has a say and it's up to us to sift through and hopefully discern the difference between real gold and fool's gold. And even then, the definition of real gold is in flux. What's fool's gold to one can be real gold to another.

Bottom line is consumers that we are, will do whatever we want regardless, depending on preferences and priorities. Common sense is priceless along with good humor... A for good entertainment value!
