Blue LED Winker mod

Blue LED Winker mod
Some of you guys may have the winker mirror covers that have the blue and amber LEDs. I don't think I've seen anyone in NA put the blue lights to use because they're not technically street legal.
I've wired mine up so that they come on with the parking lights and stay on 15 seconds(adjustable timing) after the park lights go out. I've also made it so that the blue LEDs are disabled when the ignition is on II, aka the car is on.
If you're wondering, they're not connected to the dome. That would be impossible because they are permanently grounded with the amber lights. I am only able to control the blue LEDs via positive input. Therefore, I had to use a time delay relay and a regular relay as a kill switch for when the car is switched on.
Check out the video demo.

...And yes I am aware that I desperately need to wish this thing

Thanks, I was trying to show the footwell lights in the back too. But they're too subtle to be seen against the other lights.
Mines an lx which is like a medium trim between the sport and base here.
It came with hubcaps but I'm just using those to mount my winter tires for now... Can't wait to put my summers back on.
Also, I modded it to look like a sport by changing the bumper and adding side skirts.
So it kinda looks funny seeing hubcaps on a sport lol.

The Blue "winkers" are sweet, but your mod for the the door baseplates glowing blue is even nicer. Do you have a link to that mod? It looks like something out of Tron Me likey.

dang i have to learn and do what you did. I wired it up to have the blue on all the time and the yellow would blink with it. but one day a cop in mundelein il pulled me over and told me that they were illegal, so i took them off.

Heres a link to a very similar item:
New LED 304 Stainless Steel Door Trim Scuff Sill Plate Fit 2008 2012 Honda Fit | eBay
just run the wiring under the weather stripping, its really easy to pull it off.
you can snake the rear sill wires through the pillars between the doors.
after that, solder the + and - together front and back and then left and right, so that you end up with one positive and negative lead for all 4 door sills(youll have to extend the wires so they reach the area under the steering wheel)
once you have that, tap them into the dome light wires, those are the lone pink and blue wires. you can find lots of pics of them on this site.
hope that helps.

you dont need the time delay relay if you only want it to flash, you can just
hook up the one relay that would prevent it from being on while the car was on
