In my old civic wagon I left the lights on a few weeks ago. It jumped easy and I put in on the battery tender when I got home. After the weekend it was up to 100%. And this is a "genuine" honda battery going on more than 8 years old at this point! They made a good battery back then, hopefully still do.

Nope. For Fits, they don't "still do". But Honda does not make the Fit batteries.

Mine went flat dead yesterday! Bought the battery at Honda this April and now I can't even open the car with the remote. Winter hasn't even properly started in Norway!
The funny thing is that the charges says it's fully charged but the batteries own indicator says charge needed....

Install a 51r baterry and be done with it. You live in a cold country... You'll wonder why you didn't switch earlier!

Thanks for the tip! Honda sent a mechanic to my house and charged the battery, then took the car and did a full charge while they checked if anything in the car was causing the battery to die. While they did that I got a brand new CRV executive for the entire day. Best off all it was all free and if the batt fails again they'll change to a new one.

I still have the original on and it crancks really well with a voltage output of 12.35 volts.

The battery is now more than 5 yeras old and here in the North of Italy temperatures range from over 40°C to minus 10°C, so on this issue I'am satisfied. The paint is another issue....

ODYSSEY battery - Official Manufacturer's Site

I have used a fairly small one of their batteries to start a 14:1 compression small block chevy... and they have an awesome shelf life. They don't like trickle chargers always just charge with a nice heavy duty 12+ amp one..

Cheers

Replacing the Fit's Battery with an upgrade - easy!
I have both a 2008 Fit Sport and a 2015 Fit EX. I have replaced the battery in both of them with a Costco 51R battery, the 2008 over five years ago. It never fails no matter what the weather now. The battery tray mod is very simple - disconnect and lift out the battery, lift out the plastic tray (not connected to anything) and cut off the corner that keeps it from visually being a rectangle with a knife or hacksaw.. Put it back. replace the battery. That easy! BTW, the OEM 2015 Honda battery is now in my John Deere 285 mower - same size as its OEM except 1" taller! It's true - we appear to have a lawn mower battery in our Fits!

My original battery in the Fit is 6.5 years old and still load tests fine. I feel like I'm pushing my luck, and I'll probably replace it soon proactively.
