I taught my girlfriend because I messed my ankle up and couldn't drive.

She learned quick.

I learned in my 89 CRX.

I learned in a Fit. My mom gave me one lesson in a parking lot, and then I snuck out at 3am and learned on empty streets. I was driving downtown the next day. Easy

I learned on a 97 Civic EX. Drove that for 10k miles while I decided what to buy and settled on the Fit. I taught 2 people to drive stick in the Civic, both relearned quick in the fit (they drive auto day to day, so) and I taught my friend how to drive (literally, the closest thing to a car he had "driven" before was a bicycle) and he hardly stalled at all. I just recently taught a guy I go to school with how to drive stick and he stalled the Fit once and within a few starts was even doing starts on a gentle hill (though rolling backward quite a bit). It seems to be an easy car to learn on.
