no. it's a hard code because it's a federal law to have that installed in all cars since... 2007? but there's no way to clear the code unless you transfer the TPMS sensors to your new rims and have them recalibrated at the dealer.

Pull the cluster out and cover the bulb with electrical tape.

You can put black tape over the spot on the dashboard, no need to take anything apart.

I forgot where I saw it, but I remember a guy who took all four sensors and put them in some tube (I forget whether PVC or otherwise) and he sealed it up and pressurized it to 33 psi. Keep that tube somewhere in the car, and sensors will never go off. Seems a bit excessive, but then so does taking apart the dash.

Are you going to run rims that are too old to have mounts for TPMS? When I had my tires replaced Walmart didnt charge me anything to mount the Tpms again on the rim.

Even though I have to run 5 Psi higher than stock, sensors have yet to give me trouble.

That trick doesn't work on the fit. Tire has to be spinning at 28 mph for the sensor to turn on and send data to the car. If the car doesn't hear from the sensors, it'll display an error light.

That's why I said take the cluster out and put it over the bulb, you won't see it at all. I wouldn't want a piece of tape on my instrument glass either lol. Besides you'll probably still see the light from behind the tape at night if you just put it on the glass. Try it first I guess.

Unless its spinning at 28 mph, it won't work for the fit. Our sensors don't turn on until they feel the acceleration.

you could always just do what I did albeit costly.....was install a scan gauge 2 to block the pesky light.....(note: I did not buy the scan gauge for that intent purpose)

I would not recommend taping the light bulb, LED or not. The result could be a fire at worse, a burnt out bulb at best.
Just cover it with black electrician tape on the front of the cluster face.

While its not legal for you to disable it intentionally, here are some solutions if you must.

Option 1: Make a leak proof air cylinder out of Home Depot PVC pipe, throw all the sensors inside, pressure it up to 36psi and just throw the can under the factory trunk spare area.

Option 2: Disable the warning light by removing bulb from cluster.

Option 3: im sure there is a TPMS specific fuse you could just pull the fuse although i haven't personally looked into it.

Like its been said. Put electrical tape IN the cluster. It's so easy. Pull the cluster, take the plastic off, pull back the metallic black piece, put the tape over the hole (not directly on the bulb). It would take something MAJOR to light electrical tape on fire with a low intensity led. I did it a year ago, I actually forgot that I had done it until I saw this thread.

It's less than 28mph, since it will turn on in the parking lot leaving work (always just before I get to the road) if the tire is low. It's pressure threshold is 28psi, that may be what you are thinking of, but I don't get above 15 or 20mph in the parking lot. That said, they do need to be spinning at some speed to work.

For number one, see above.

#2 works

#3 is a no go, I looked. Also, as a side note to anyone stuck with the VSA version of the Fit. Pulling the ABS/VSA fuse also disables your power steering.

FWIW, the FSM says 28 mph (45 kph) is the trigger.

Ok, now you have me curious. My tire should be low again tomorrow or friday (slow leak I have yet to track down...) and I will test out what speed the sensors kick on at (or at least lowe than). I will have to do some math as well, since I have them installed on 14" rims (stock on my car, a base, was 15") and most people have 16" rims. That will change the outward linear acceleration felt by the sensors (should be higher at a lower speed on the 14's). Hey! My college physics courses will come in handy for something! I will try to get some time to run the math tomorrow (have a lab class tonight after work) and will report back with number.

Also, what page in the service manual, I want to check it out in my copy.

without TPMS VSA is on constantly so if it snows or you want to have some fun without the traction control coming on you will be sol without tpms.
