2010 rear camber question

2010 rear camber question

First post and great site! A few weeks ago I got a 2010 base Fit with 25k. I have been having a blast but recently noticed the rear wheels seem to have the slightest toe out. It had a clean carfax and I've babied her so far. Is this the normal suspension stance???? I'll say 98 of 100 people would probably not of noticed it since it is very slight.

I crawled underneath and all looks good tires are wearing evenly so far and pressure is good, thoughts?

have the alignment checked. There are no adjustments for the rear so maybe you're better off not knowing...

Mine's silver so I'm not sure what color the inner rear fender should be on a red one, but that looks like overspray from here. The dark line on the outside of the tire looks odd too.

I'd have it checked on an alignment rack. They can't fix it but they can tell you if the rear is outside factory tolerance and by how much.

If it's been in an accident and the seller didn't disclose that it's grounds for suing. Or asking for your money back. The former will be expensive and the latter will probably get you laughed at, but it's worth a try.

But have it checked. Worth your peace of mind.

It is still under the bumper to bumper warranty so I probably will. I just wanted to get someone else's take to be sure it isn't normal. Below are a few better pictures. Thanks again Steve!

First run a stretched elastic cord around the middle of all 4 wheels with front straight ahead, then check to see if you really have any toe-out. The elastic cord is found in most sewimng centers. If you can really see toe in or out its likely too much. Toe-out is demonstrated by the front tire sidewall contacting the cord instead of the rear sidewall of the same tire when the cord contacts both front and rear or within a mm on forward sidewalls on both front tires simultaneously.(The front track is .6 to .7 m,m wider than the rear.)
If the toe-out is very slight you should leave it alone Its true it will generate a little toe-out but if there's anything the Fit needs its a tad more rear oversteer to counteract the massive front understeer.

No problem.

And I should have said "no adjustment" for rear camber (or any other aspect of the rear-end geometry). There's always a fix but these can be expensive. The first thing is to determine if there's a problem.

I've found dealers are reluctant to put cars on an alignment rack; service managers will eyeball the car and try to tell you it's fine. Take it to an independent shop and get a report. They might charge you $70 but ask, they might check it for free. I think NTB will do this.
