Differences over the years?
Differences over the years?
Looking at buying a Fit, likely used, and curious to know what changed from year to year, since 2008, and between the trim levels (though I'll likely skip the Navigation trim level).
For example, what year did traction control change from requiring the Navigation trim, to being available without Navigation? It looks like it was 2011, but guessing that out took a lot of digging on Edmunds, so I figure there must be an easier way.
Also, are there any known issues with known years?
Thanks

VSA (traction control) became standard on the 2011+ models.
Models before that you need Navi for VSA
Other than that, the 2012+ models received a new, wider, sportier grill and black housing on the headlights. Also the interior was said to be more insulated to reduce road noise.
I bought a 2010 Fit and the road noise isn't that bad. A lot of it is generated from the crappy Dunlop tires, which on any model need to be replaced. I plan on replacing mine when I hit about 25k miles, or before winter, whichever comes first.
I think the 2012+ also have media control on the steering wheel, which I had in my old car before the Fit and I miss that. Something small, but nice. Especially when your right hand is occupied by shifting and you want to adjust the volume or station/song.
Other than that, not much difference between the years.
Oh and the 2011 Sport models came with carpeted floor mats. The '09 and '10 models don't have floor mats. I was kind of annoyed when I bought my 10 and had to go buy floormats the next day. But I bought Honda's all season floor mats for the fit and wouldn't want anything else. They look great and super easy to clean.

As far as known issues, none really. I did a ton of research on the Fit before buying it and no one seems to have issues with it that I seen.
My friend works for Honda and he says the Fit is hands down the most reliable car that they produce, which that statement alone played a huge part in my decision to buy a Fit.

The 2012+ got softer springs or shocks. My wife has a 2010 and I have a 2013, and the ride in mine over bumps is MUCH nicer (ie softer) without being too-soft. It's still sporty just not so harsh. Especially for the back side riders or going over speed bumps the difference is very evident.
