New Development: Vibrations !
New Development: Vibrations !
So at 101,111 miles, my GE8 has developed a vibration that I feel at idle and can confirm by looking at my small wiper, which bounces around. Lifted the hood and see the whole engine shaking.
Could this be a mount? gotta get it looked at while on a lift but was wondering if my stiffer suspension (swifts) driving around NYC contirbuted to this?
any other possible issues if not the mounts?ignition components?

You are likelycorrect that one of the engine mounts has been loosened as a result of a stiffer suspension and rough roads. Check the mounts cushioning rubber on each moumntimhg,
100k is getting ripe for valve adjustment and spark plugs. I think you've done these in the last 50K though, didn't you?
If it's not throwing codes it can't be that bad. Define "whole engine shaking."
And yeah, the long arm on the small wiper has shuddered like a palsied octogenarian on mine since new, especially when the A/C is off and idle is at 600rpm or so.

If you guys see how much the 09 Fit Engine moves you would sH!T your pants.. it might be engine mount related or exhaust ... or Gas in the Tank..??? But anyways I`m going to see if there is anyone that is going to make a damper/ stiffer mounts for this car.. becuase the GE8 Needs it for sure...

Window weld atleast one of the mounts might help it a bit.
I'm not sure if the Swifts accelerated the problem the OP states.... no matter what suspension you're on the roads here are crap. I think the potholes might have done in one or more of the mounts.... as mentioned already.
None of my wipers ever vibrated.... before the damn LMS recall... shortly after, I noticed the small wiper vibrating... took it back to Honda, now both vibrate slightly.
Another thing I noticed after the recall was at idle the rpms sometimes are erratic (only by a 1- 3 hundred rpms)... crappy dealership!
+1 mine too.
You can check the mounts easy enough. If it's a manual block the wheels and apply the handbrake, then pop the hood and prop it open.
Now keeping everybody out of the front of the car and pointing the front of the car away from any obstructions give it a BIT of throttle and let the clutch out PART WAY (not all the way) just so the car begins to "strain" against the brake.
Do this a couple of times (clutch and release) while watching the engine to see how much it moves when you strain against the brake. But remember even a brand new one will move a bit.
If it's an auto do the same first part but then just push down hard on the brake and gas it in drive like a power brake start then release after a few seconds.
