I would use it for change. The Fit doesn't really have a good place for change.

I got the following message today, "Thank you for placing your order with us, unfortunately there is an expected delay on receiving this item as our manufacturer is currently showing zero stock.
As soon as we receive this part we will despatch the completed order immediately."

Looks like it might take a little longer to get the part.

"Lings Honda Parts - Order Despatched", I got a little chuckle out of that. I hope to get the part in a week now. Woot Woot.

I look forward to seeing how this goes. I'm probably going to get one as well.

The part is in the US.... They didn't use UPS this time, so I haven't received it yet. I'll keep you posted.

Sooooo, the part looks like it will fit up perfectly to all of the mounting tabs. But, their is a big metal piece in the way as you can see in the 3rd and 4th pictures. My guess is this is some kind of safety piece as they are floating and don't really look like they are being used for anything. I think I might wait until the warranty is out before removing the metal piece and installing this.

Damn, I wonder what that's for?

Guess that's why we don't get the pocket.... Maybe you can cut a space out and make it fit? It should still be able to do whatever it does with a small hole in the middle..

Yeah I don't think I will be cutting that on mine. That's too bad. The pocket was bigger than I expected and would have been useful.

Why not just install the "Acura homelink console" (you can also find them w/out the homelink for a little less $$).

There's a few other DIY's on here also.

I wonder what the function of that is... I've seen it a few times when I was routing wires behind it... it looks like it's just to protect some wiring?
It can be easily cut to fit this "pocket panel".... the question is, does one want to?

It is heavy metal and welded into place. The ribs and bends on it make it stronger. I think it is a safety support to protect your knees in a front end crumple. That is why it is not found in Fits outside of N.A. where the safety standards are not as advanced. I wouldn't mess with it, not worth the risk for a change holder cubby.

So, if you put a smaller cell phone (I have a feeling my Galaxy S4 won't fit)... would it come out under hard acceleration?

Pics or it didn't happen!

Also, how did you cut the metal?

It's not big enought for a smart phone. I used this $20 saw from harbor freight and a couple saw blades later the metal came out. Right now I'm using the pocket for my parking pass. The parking pass hangs out ever so slightly, but it hasn't fallen out from my spirited driving. I'll take a pic tomorrow.

Thumbs up

^^^ Looks GREAT!!! Nice job.

Did you the whole piece of metal or just notch it to fit the pocket?
Post up pics of the metal you cut.
