Battery problem Fit Sport

Hi members. I hope i am posting this question correctly in the right place. My problem is my battery on my new Fit Sport needed to be recharged ( Lights left on overnight) and is working fine now. The problem is the red circle indicator is showing it needs water but all the six cells have been filled. I live in the tropics and I guess the sun takes its toll. Help please

Drive around on highway for 30min to 1hour to see if that will sufficiently charge the battery.

edit: the outer ring on the indicator is blue and the inner dot red when charged. The outer ring is red when the water level is low. A discharged condition the outer ring is clear, the inner dot is red. (at least according to the OE battery label on mine; confusing huh?).

It might take a couple days normal use for it to go "blue" (fully charge) but it will have plenty of charge to start in the meantime. At least that was my experience after someone left the lights on in mine. Don't worry; they've been banished from the Fit.

I highly suggest hooking it to a battery tender overnight. Go borrow one from any motorcycle owner, at least any REAL cycle owner.

Hey Steve thanks for the diagram and breaking it down for me. The battery circle has not turned blue yet and if i understood the diagram the clear circle means it is not charged which confuses me cause it starts quickly and all accesories come on quick.

madd- the car will still start with less than full charge. you will want to drive on the hwy for 30min to 1hr per wat casualfitowner posted. that's sound advice for quick charge.

then, if you have a bettery tender (charger that floats at full, not a trickle charger), use that to charge the rest, or drive hwy the following few days and dont do any short trips under 5miles.

I don't have a battery tender for my motorcycle. It's not needed! I ride it year round!

Plus it's a Honda. Starts every time!
