Exclamation New fit owner looking for Advice~~

hello everyone, i had browsing this site for a long period of time ,b4 buying my 2013 white fit sport auto.

and i finally bought it, me and my wife r both ok with it. even though we were really looking @ something more better make such as acura or lexus. but ended up buying a 2013 honda pilot EX-l Navi and a fit sport.

price it's really good for a fit and pilot both 0.9% for 60 months.
A++.
but the built quality r really kinda off my taste , so here is the something i am looking to buy n upgrade myself.
please share ur experience and ur kind words.

i bought an Chinese made DVD GPS which will be here in a few days.
built in GPS with Dvd and direct bolt on,plug and play, will like to ass a rearview camera ,my wife ask for it.(haven't purchase the camera yet).
bought the Clazzio leather seat cover ,will be here thursday or friday.

audio was ok for me, cuz i really not into music ,some times i found myself not even turned my music on for hours of driving, and my wife was ok with the sound quality .

but the cabin sound level is really high in highway at 60+ MPH.
i am wondering if there is anything i can do to improve it.
wind noisy road and tire sound. engine was a little noisy aswell.

also.
headlights, my wife really likes led day time running lights.
i did search on ebay n google, i found lots of mades for 2009 and 2010.
so i am wondering if it will fit.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/09-10-HONDA-...0e41d7&vxp=mtr

thx thx.

They'll fit with some difficulty. Those ebay ones are known for not being a perfect fit.

You could consider doing a retrofit and adding internal LED DRLs. Some people even mounted led strips just over the lower grill. I've got xbaled rings from TRS.

Hello Leo,
I am doing some sound deadening on my 2 front doors,
and that already lowered the noise a lot,...
Here are the thread where I post how I do mine,
please look at this thread page and the next pages too...
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/2nd-...art-key-4.html

I also just bought (yesterday) more sound proofing material MLV and Foam, and some of them are on their way with UPS now,...
as soon as they arrive I will post more because
I plan to do a COMPLETE Sound Deadening project on my Honda Fit.

but other's here had done the same too, and you can search those old post here with key word "sound deadening".

Have Fun

If build quality is your concern, buying Chinese DVD players is not an auspicious start. Confucius say .. never mind.

As a side note, the perceived quality is intentionally lower on economy brands like Honda vs luxury brands like Acura. But they're made by the same company. Often in the same factory. They aren't the same car, for sure, but trying to get a "better built" car by buying an Acura is just pooping out your dollars to the benefit of the Acura marketing department.

Buy an Acura or a Lexus because it's more comfortable, faster, or your friends will be impressed because they derive a piece of their own self-worth from the brands they associate with. All valid reasons. But don't bother buying a Lexus because you are trying to find something built better than a Toyota.

Come on i guys i am not saying something it's wrong with the fit.i am looking for advice to improve.
And of cuz i chosen to buy the fit,i had nothing against it,i just want to improve.
As for Acura of cuz i know it's built by honda, but it's so true that acura r better built than honda brand,n that's what the price tag difference are,
17K compare to 37k.u figures
And i had mentioned up already i choose to buy this one it's because my wife drive it the most, if i got her an Acura, or lexus ,it will make me to worry about someone scratch or scrape the car, i lived in NYC.
So that's why i got her this,and myself an 2013 pilot ex-l navi.cause honda it's offering them 0.9% rate for 60 months.
And as for Chinese made gps.
Why Chinese brand makes u guy some scares or funny about it.
How many electronic out there r not built by Chinese.
Name some that's not.made in china.
So.anyway.
This is not my first car or something,i have a 2007 s2000 wide body n boost @ 400 WHP.
I owned 3 Honda's.
I loved honda built engine

BEATEN damn it

There's a bunch of threads on here talking about adding sound deadening already that go into great detail. I'd use Google to search for them.

Having owned both brands, no Acura is not better built than a Honda. They both have excellent build quality. The reason you pay more, is for more features that the Acura will usually have, and the marketing behind it as upscale brand. You can choose to not believe that of course, just as you can choose to believe the sun rotates around the earth. Believing it still doesn't make it true.

Pilots and MDX are built at the same factory with the same employees, sharing same transmission and same engine. You actually believe they are more lax with the Pilot than when assembling an MDX?

Welcome to the forum sound deadening material and if money is not a concern better tires is a good start. I had a small car before the Fit so I am pretty use to noise plus I play my radio all the time. My wife does complain about talking on her phone and the noise so I am considering the sound deadening material. My tires are the original tires but will replace later this year when I hit 30k after a year of ownership.

Good luck.

I suspect what moniz was referring to was things like the fit and finish of the trim and interior. Fits can have some rather obvious gaps and seams (both on the interior and between body panels), some kind of cheap feeling plastics, and fabrics that are rather cheap and thin (particularly the carpeting). An Acura certainly feels better built—and given the price differences, it should—even though there's no reason to believe the mechanics and so forth are made to superior specifications.

As for noise, the factory tires are not the quietest tires available by far. Replacing them is one thing that will help the situation somewhat. Obviously, installing soundproofing materials can also help substantially.

I have ls460 projectors with the led ring inside them. The projectors are inside standard fit sport headlights with a bit of paint inside.
I honestly can't say how difficult the ebay headlights are to install, I just wouldn't trust them for entirely proper fitment
If you just want the LEDs, it's pretty cheap to do. The rings plus the relays/resistors are less than 100 bucks.

Agree with Connor55. Get a retro.

Just going to give you a heads up, these weren't cheap to find or get retroed. Projectors from an Infiniti Q45, they were around $300 a piece and luckily, I lucked out cause I found them that cheap. Retrofit was $400. And then also purchased a set of OE headlamp assemblies for $200 for these babies. $1,200 total. But no high beams, not like it's a big deal anyway with 7 projectors. Everything is a lot more clear!
