opps. do you guys also do the break-in period.

**always on my new cars I do the break in properly but driving the FIT below 3-4K rpm esp. acceleration is rather slow..

Yes I did a break in period on mine, drove pretty conservative for about 3k miles and now I drive much more spirited.

I have replaced my sad horn with an aahh-ooogha horn which really does rock. You could also use a sickspeed horn which is weird but distinctive enough.

I did HIDs for headlights but I don't recommend it without projector lenses. Try GE or Sylvania super white lights. Much better visibility than stock.

Rearview mirror? Try a broadway clip-on if you prefer the wide angle look.

There is a thread on using an Accord horn that is easy to do. Did it on mine while it is not too much louder it gets rid of the meep meep horn.

I also am in the process of doing the break-in period. I seldom go much over 3k RPM. Pototoy, you didn't say whether you have a manual or auto transmission. I have an auto and it gets pretty quick acceleration (from stop) at about 3K. Maybe a manual requires more, since it is said to rev higher. But I would advise not revving too high during break-in, not from any technical knowledge, but why not play it conservative, at least for the first 1k miles.

It's pretty forgiving. Just avoid full throttle and hard stops for the first 600miles. And take some time to read the manual.

Break-in Period
Help assure your vehicle's future
reliability and performance by paying
extra attention to how you drive
during the first 600 miles (1,000 km).
During this period:
● Avoid full-throttle starts and rapid
acceleration.
● Avoid hard braking for the first 200
miles (300 km).
● Do not change the oil until the
scheduled maintenance time.
Otherwise just drive normal. Well ok, normal for your mom. Assuming your mom doesn't autocross.

uh no. technically not until the MM calls for it as that's the only schedule.

Those of us that obsess about tasty fresh oil have had to take a chill-pill.

Or compromise and leave it in there a few thousand miles for the factory additives to do their work. Most are getting 10K miles by the MM between changes (some only get a few thousand).
