Wheel Question

I was wondering what the lowest offset on wheels you can run on without them poking?? Going to be shopping for a set of wheels with some lip and want it to sit as flush as possible with the fenders. Any insight would be helpful and if you want to post a pic or let me know what your running that would be cool to. Going to be putting Eibach Sportlines onit as well. Thanks doods

Anything in between +35 to +45 on either 7"-8" wheel width should be fine.

first of all u would need spacers at the rear to make the rear flush as the rear wheel well has more room than the fronts.
secondly with offset like 35+ on a 7 inch wheel you would be requiring some fender work to avoid rubbing specially on the fronts.
you could also do some camber at the fronts.

End of the day it all depends how low you wanna go.
hope that helps.

The size of the tires, diameter and section width, count as much as offset but the lowest offset that has virually no problems is 45 mm. If you go down to 42mm the chances of intereference increase and under 42mm a lot.

Thanks a bunch guys this helps very much. I am currently in the process of doing a lot of fender work to my Element to get the stance perfect. It's taxing to say the least!! I want a wheel with some lip and I want to go low!! I hate wheel gap!! Don't know what springs will be best suited for this as I currently have coilovers and love them. Much tighter budget this time due to 3rd child on way. I have had Eibach Sportlines in the past and liked the drop they gave me so that's prolly what I'll go with.

You might also want to check out t1r springs. That's what I'm running at the moment and people are always surprised by the drop on them. I've had them for probably 3 years now, no complaints (except the people behind me when I slow down for speedbumps)

Front pokes first.

ET42-45 7" width front and ET35 7" width rear looks best with swift springs imo. i run -1.5 camber up front using SPC.

So if I were to say put a set of 521 XXR's on it with a +38MM offset how much do you guess would poke out??

you can come away with the +38. i have a friend running 17x7.5 +38 using 205/40 and have around -2 camber using bolts. He rubs mainly on just huge dips.

Though yeah it all depends on the tires as well. He was using smaller 205/40 compared to other brands.

Perfect example is same friend used 17x7.5 +45 with a different brand of 205/40 tire and he already rubs with the same drop.

Be careful when choosing tires HTH!
