What do u think of the coming soon fit/jazz?

Folks I'm with a 2009 model.

Just wanted to get a feel for your comments on the new one which japan just started to sell....

my comments, at least in pics, i'm not liking the rear lights. Front can grow on me. 6 speed manual....finally!
don't mind the dash....but I think i'd really miss the side front cup holders which I believe the new one doesn't have

like the blue tint from the auto shifter too

not sure of the HP ratings and any weight differences as well

Honestly I'll be keeping mine - as I don't see much of an upgrade with the newer one.

I am waiting on the urban CUV which is to be based on the new fit's chassy - wish I could find more info on it....I think its got the looks while this new fit, is too....Nissan versa note like, at least in looks department

ur comments?

link to the definitive next gen fit thread? (I'm too lazy to look for it).

From what I remember it's following the trend in auto design all cars are. Lots of sharp edges.

I don't think we know if an upgraded interior is in the works do we?

MPG should be much better with the next gen engines.

The instrument cluster is interesting. But this looks like a hybrid model.

I wonder how much they'll dumb it down for the NA market. I don't see us getting climate control, touch screen radios, keyless ignition etc. etc. The Jazz is a much more upscale car in other markets.

Too early to tell. The US models will be different from the Japanese probably with fewer, if any, engine choices. Will have to drive one with the CVT. Hope it's better than most. Dealer says that in reality they expect to have deliveries in January although Honda says earlier. Back in the market when the 2014s arrive since my wife totaled her 2012 Fit (4,933 miles) last week in a one car case of bad judgement. A Fit does not take kindly to being driven over a concrete island.
If the 14s aren't that great we'll go for a 13.

I like the headlight, upper grill treatment. This being an "RS" variant, hard to say how much would make it to a USDM Sport model. The current JDM fit is available with HID headlamps etc.

I really wish they'd come out with a variant more like the top-end Euro and Japanese cars for the US market (Fit EX? Fit EX-L?). I couldn't care less about side moldings and 17 inch wheels. A more quiet and comfortable car would get my attention. But that's just me (and obviously Honda knows the market better than I do).

i will have to see it in person next year when the ones for the US market arrive (from mexico?). from the pictures it doesn't look too bad. the rear lamps do look weird to me, but i am sure i will get use to it.

my 09 is due for replacement next year. I prefer to get the new accord sedan, but my wife is the primary driver and she needs the extra cargo room of a hatch for her work. so will see. if the '14 doesnt look to be all that great, i will most likely get the Impreza hatch in cvt for her (impreza's are made in japan).

i test drove the impreza last year, and i was quite impressed with the smooth ride. it's slow, but the 09 AT GE is also slow to me, so no big change there.
