Fit Radio Seek Function
Fit Radio Seek Function
Just got a lease transferred 2012 Fit, I find it maddening that you have to press and hold the seek button for it to seek rather than tune. What is the point of having the middle dial as a tuning knob as well then.
Is there any way around this, I know its a first world problem but my other toyota echo had this too, guess its a japanese thing.
Anyways newbie would like to hear your advice.
Thanks

It should scan through the radio stations slowly after you press the button, I think it stays on each station like five seconds or so before it goes to the next one.
I usually just end up pressing it repeatedly if i'm in an unknown area until I find something I like though lol

I'm not entirely sure what Subie is talking about. Pressing the left/right button once tunes one step, and holding it for a moment seeks. I don't think there's any way to change that behavior.
You can also use the scan button, as Wanderer described (the "Scan" button), or you can seek by genre according to RDS by using the up/down arrows around the center knob to choose a genre and then tap the left or right arrow to find the next station.

DrewE is right in that is exactly how it works, just have to live with it I guess, not that big in the grand scheme of things, does have very good reception.
Another pet peeve is the lack of variable wipers, I've read the work around to get a new wiper stalk so will have to look into that as well.
Floor mats are next though, winter coming and the ones I have are just flat plastic.

Was thinking of the Scan function in general.
Yes, sorry I was thinking of the "scan" button. I don't think i've ever used the seek button unless I had a CD in.
You can pre-program 12 FM stations in, so when i'm in my home town I don't really ever need to seek for anything. Scan button works better.
