Gas door problem?.....

My 09 fit gas door is being a PITA.

Have to push it a pile of times to get it open. I read quite some time ago there was a TSB about it????

Any help appreciated!

Since it is a TSB and not a recall it would be up to the dealer if they want to goodwill warranty it for you since I am sure you are out of you 3/36.

Same damn issue with my '09 as well. Since I'm too lazy to perform the TSB myself, I just use the corner of my debit card to open the gas door when I'm at the pump.

Sure it's not fixed, but at least I'm not standing at the side of my car cursing and thumb banging the door trying to get it open... 'Specially in Canadian winters.

As Tertza noted, the gas door is not 'locked' in a closed position. All you have to do is 'wedge' it open with your credit card (or your fingernail if it's long enough).
