Do you guys always do the B1 service when it says B1?

B1 seems to just be A1 with a few extra "inspections and checks".

I've been skipping B1 and doing A1 instead the past couple of times being that my car only has 25k miles on it.

I also saw in a coupon book from my local dealership that B1 is recommended at 30k/60k/90k miles for cars without MM.

So what do you guys do when the "B" service shows up?

Poke around under the hood and suspension to make sure nothing looks out of place or missing. I don't wait for the MM though, I just like to poke around sometimes.

A 1 specifies oil change, no filter change. per mm checks.

B 2 specifies oil and filter change along with a detailed visual check, fluids etc. Correct any problems noted.

I change my filter with each oil change. I rotate tires about every 6k mi.

Understand that the service dept is selling services. Look at what they offer and the prices. Compare this with what the manual calls for at these stages.

I took mine in for A1 and B1 service the first times, more to document that it and been done (in an abundance of caution) in the event of warranty issues than anything else. At A1 the dealer did an oil change (with filter, that was not called for at this point, but that's only $10) and inspected everything (basically what B1 calls for) charging about $35. When I took it in for B1 service they quoted me over $100 for the same thing. I told'em just to do the "A1" service. They were happy to comply.

When it comes time for engine and cabin filters, consider doing these yourself; the dealer charges silly rates for 5 minutes effort to change these. $100 for a cabin filter that costs $20 and can be popped in with no tools or fuss in a few minutes is typical.

If you're at all handy and have a place to work, consider doing the maintenance yourself. The money you save avoiding unnecessary or poorly done work will more than compensate for the tools and your time.
