Nah don't buy wheels preemptively because you'll have to get new tires too, and that gets expensive. I say that because there's not many (any?) 16" steel wheels you can just swap tires over to. I saw on here I think it was Costco in Canada had them but didn't see them in the US. If anyone does know a place that carries 16" steel wheels in the US lmk.

I am assuming you have a 2009+ Fit sport?

So are the steel wheels less likely to be stolen? What makes them less desirable? Materials? Weight? Are they different sizes than the ones these lowlives apparently want? Just curious, this whole thing is something of a surprise to me.

Also considering a new alarm system. Any recommendations?

Size and they don't really look nice. OEM 16" alloys that fit older Civics are dreamy.

I've run 3 different aftermarket wheels and haven't had locks on them. Luckily no issues. The only reason was the factory locks won't work with aftermarket wheels. Grab some oem locks, park under a light and don't lose sleep. You could curb up the rims to make them less desirable. (Totally kidding, don't do that). Enjoy the "new" car.

I too bought my Fit and then came across all the wheel theft articles online. I was so worried until I got something on my car as well. I know exactly what you are going through....

I bought the set Waizzz listed from Amazon for my 2013. It's a full set. (Might have been 20 actually, I think.) I just hid the "key" in a place I thought would be hard to find since every lugnut is locking. I doubt someone is gonna take the time to beat a socket on every lugnut or have the time and someone not hear them. Just dont put it with the spare or in the glove box, that's the first place someone will look if they break in.

Amazon's Garage feature said that these locks don't fit my 2013 Fit, but that is not true.

Good Luck!

Just returned home from a local Honda dealer and put one of the Honda locks on each wheel. I'm also going to order a set of Gorilla locks and put one of those on each wheel as well.

And then I will keep my fingers crossed!
