GE8 Eibach Prokit Installed

Just installed prokit on my 2012 fit, looks great but ride is choppier than I expected. Have had 2 lowered civics before, not nearly as choppy ride. Don't know if it's the shorter wheelbase or what. South florida roads pretty good, so I'm kind of surprised. Might have to go with japan modulo strut spring combo instead.

Install extended ball joints (Buddy Club, J's Racing, HardRace...). I had the same issue when I lowered on the Eibachs.

Did the ball joints really improve the ride?

Yeah IIRC the Eibach springs were the stiffer of the ones available for the GE and lowish. Probably don't pair too well with stock shocks.

What do you mean by choppy?

You're going to have issues with what ever spring you run. The car was never meant to be lowered. The extended bj made a big difference. I did a write up on them. The bjs correct the roll center of the car making it feel less sloppy. Changing the geometry of any car by lowering it, disrupts the handling.

Bumpy like the shocks don't damp the springs with the drop and puts the shock out of range. IMO the stocks are barely up to the task with stock springs.

You can drop less, less spring rate, or lessen unsprung weight (lighter wheels and tires) to help. Better shocks of course would be the right answer but unfortunately we don't really have any with the GE.

Good tires help too, springy sidewalls make more bounce. Which should help with ride (softer) but she shocks have to damp that bounce too then and hurts more than helps when they're already stressed.

I notice with eibachs they take time (months) to settle. I have to hit something really hard aka a pot hole to bottom out the strut. The eibach springs really put the shocks to work and the shocks don't keep up very well. But I wouldn't complain about it as a dd. Companies like eibach and tein have done their homework.

I'm a old fart (50) and don't expect my fit to ride like a Bentley, but after owning several lowered civics,I believe there is room for improvement. Hopefully the new sprint springs will be a reasonable compromise.

Evasive motor sports in California, also got wheel spacers from them. Picked the brand by reading fit freak postings, wished I'd read them 2weeks sooner.
