New here. :)
Hey everyone, name's Kevin and am a new member here.
My family bought a 2013 Honda Fit Base (5-AT, Milano Red) on 3/1/2014 for $17250 at Goudy Honda in Alhambra, CA. My mom wanted a wagon/hatchback that has a decent cargo room and can save gas. We were looking into the Kia Soul and Honda Fit. We decided on the Honda Fit after having some annoyances at the Kia dealer, so we went to Goudy Honda which was nearby. We tried to get a lower price around $16k or less, but the dealer wouldn't go lower than $16500 for the Base with blue color and steel wheels. They later showed us a Milano Red with the 16 inch alloys from the Sport and tinted windows. They gave us 3 years of free maintenance/oil change from the dealer and added floor mats for free as well.
It's been almost 2 months and while my parents drive it around a lot, I do get to drive it from time to time, and feel that it is better to drive than my 2013 Accord. It handles much better and the interior is great for its size. Plus, it feels much more fun to drive than the Kia Soul that we were cross-shopping.
However, looking at the 2015 Fit, I do wish that we waited a bit longer since it has many of the features that we wanted, such as Bluetooth, backup camera, LED taillights, auto-headlights, etc, but am concerned about the fact that it is built in Mexico. Still, I think it's a great car.

Welcome to FF, happy driving and post pics!!!

I'm glad you got the Fit. I have a 13 Base with 5 MT, bought in Jan this year. Mine is gray in color. I was also looking at the Soul, but the deal breaker was that the MPG is poor. I think the Fit has the same amount of interior space (maybe a bit more) and waaay better MPG. So you guys made a good choice.
Your household now owns a FIT. Its paid for, and being the right car to address your mom's "want", its now time to focus on getting the most out of it for the coming years. The past is done and what's left is to feel good that the right vehicle was chosen. Its a Fit - no wrong here!!!

If you're really missing those features, it's not impossible to add them to the car yourself. Plus you get the piece of mind that it was built in Japan vs built in Mexico.
Not only that, but the first year of production for any car always comes with issues that can only be discovered and resolved by having thousands of people own and drive them. For the current fit, most if not all these problems have been resolved (LMS and VSA recall, and sound deadening). Who knows what issues the GK will have in it's first couple years on the market. I'm thinking there could be some issues with the CVT and direct injection just off the top of my head..

And yeah, I know what you mean. There may be new model bugs for the 3rd gen for sure.
