Wheel Bearings

I have a 2013 Base Model Fit. What kind of wheel bearings do I have?

I have been hearing a rotational clicking/tapping noise on the left side (similar to what you might hear if a stone were caught in a tire tread). I think it could be a bearing issue.

My car is at the dealership now and, of course, they cannot hear anything.

Thanks.

How many miles do you have? I noticed a sound from my front wheels when I bought my 2010 sport (used) turned out to be the rotors as weird as it sounds. They were some performance rotors the previous owner had on the car (drilled and slotted.) I am pretty unlucky with bearings though, my old civic coupe had a bad bearing on the front passenger side. Sounded like clicking at first when the weight of the car shifted to that side or when braking. Then it turned into grinding and crunching. Had to replace that sucker twice before I got rid of the blasted thing. On the other hand I just replaced the 2 rear wheel bearings because they were totally bad. Sounded like I was driving a lifted ford truck... Which is a weird sound from a little red econobox.

8,000 mi. on the car.

I just want to know if they are sealed bearings or re-pack-able bearings.

Damn you, Honda, for not selling a Service Manual.

They're sealed bearings.

If you have access to a 2012 service manual, then you should be covered since there weren't any major changes (if any at all). 2009 to 2011 service manuals should be different due to introduction of VSA on 2011 Sports and Bases may have still lacked this (someone please verify) along with Cruise Control.

^^Thanks, Hootie. I'll assume that you mean that all four wheels have sealed bearings (which is what the service writer told me . . . even they get it right once in a while).

I'll buy a '12 Service Manual as soon as I can find one. Were they published in the same softcover, large format book as my old '08 Fit Service Manual?

If you're referring to an actual Honda service manual, they should be. If referring to an aftermarket company such as Helm's, I'm not sure.

The factory Honda Service Manual. They used to sell these things in the Parts Department with a part number, just like a spark plug.
