Final mileage stats for my '09 Fit.

Just for the heck of it, I figured out the final mileage statistics for my recently departed '09 Fit Sport MT.

Note that this is actual calculated mileage, that is; total miles driven/gallons of fuel used, and is thus averaged across 6 years of driving in all weather and all conditions.

Over 6 years, I drove the Fit 85,258 miles on 2,350.3 gallons of gas, which calculates to 36.28 MPG over the life of the car. This handily beats the 33 MPG EPA highway estimate for the car. Not too bad, if I say so myself.

That's pretty good! What made you decide to get rid of her? Getting another Fit?

I was persuaded to trade up to a '15 Fit EX MT in pearl white. The local dealer offered me a very fair trade-in deal for my '09, so I decided it was time to upgrade.

Another anal when it comes to recording gas purchases.

My 09 so far is 7.7 l/100 km or 30 mpg US and 36 mpg Imp.

I just turned over 60,000 KMs or 36,000 miles. Must keep for another 5 yrs cause it is running so well.

My '09 is in the 60K mileage range at this point with 35mpg over the life. I use the Android App MyCars when I fill up to make it easy. Punch in a few numbers, Save, Done. The Dealer called about a month ago asking if I wanted to trade as there was someone looking for the configuration my car has. Told them I was going to keep it as I'm planning on it being my son's first car. he's got 7 years to go until he hits the road. I'll teach him how to drive a manual trans, it won't be too powerful and it'll haul around him and his friends if need be.

Yeah, I get this "mileage recording" from my Dad, who was a consummate record keeper. I still have his spread sheet somewhere detailing his mileage for every car he owned from his '39 Mercury convertible to his '02 Dodge Neon.

The '09 Fit was in really beautiful shape and I rather hated to let it go. I was kind of hoping someone else in the family would want it, but it wasn't to be.

That's really good mpg compared to mine. Lately I can only mange around 30-32 mpg. I get offers from my servicing dealer to trade mine in. My ac still works and it starts every morning so I figured that I don't need to spend $10k more for a newer version of my little grocery getter car.

I laugh at the annoying dealer's offers to buy my car.
I wouldn't sell it for even 1000 less than what I paid for it new. It's that good and I don't want no Mexican build car, with direct injection.
They know these cars are in high demand and that 09 will be on the lot with 16K asking price.
How much did they give you for it?
They prey on people wanting more, itching to get newer car when most people don't NEED a new car when their car is just 4-6 y.o. especially if it's a Honda. Now if it is an auto, then get rid of that slush box, no money lost. Manual on the other hand, hold onto it like the biggest asset.

Then again, you live in L.A., where cars don't rust, not here, where cars deteriorate before your eyes and there's nothing you can do about it.

If you want mine, dealer is asking $11,000 for it. Don't know anyplace where '09s are bringing $16K.
