Replacing the AC dashboard switch on a 2011 Base Fit.
Replacing the AC dashboard switch on a 2011 Base Fit.
The dashboard AC switch on my son's 2011 Base Fit has ceased to function. That is, you push it in and it doesn't stay in. If you push it in and smush it around, the green LED on the switch will come on and the AC compressor will kick in, but let go of the push button and it turns off. So I'm thinking the switch needs replacing.
Anyone have any idea how accessible that switch is? Do I have to remove the whole dashboard cover? I see it's perhaps a hand-stretch from the glove box, which is easily removed, but don't have a clue how the switch is attached to the dash.
Thanks in advance.

Stereo on the Fit is right above it and comes out REALLY easily. Look in the Audio and electronics section (ICE - in car electronics) on how to replace your stereo and then pop out the stereo. once it is out, you should have all the room in the world to work with that switch.
