2010 in-dash USB & aux receptacles
2010 in-dash USB & aux receptacles
Just purchased a 2010 Sport (non-nav) Fit. Neither USB plug works nor does the aux-in plug (lower center of dash).
I've been able to remove the radio assembly & found the following:
- one loose connector & one connector not plugged in at all (after plugging these in the USB plug in upper glove box is now functional)
- loose wires from the aux-in & USB plugs located in lower center of dash (to the right of the 12v power plug)
---- one of these cables has a male aux-in plug & the other has a male USB plug
I have searched through the inside of the dash (& back of radio) for the locations where these plugs would find their female counterparts - to no avail. Doing multiple forum searches here (as well as Google & Youtube) have also provided no good leads.
I'd really like to hook these cables back into the system so they're functional.

I spent much of the afternoon looking for the mystery plugs inside the dash. As I traced each wire bundle, it started to become clear that there were no hidden Aux plug or USB female receptacles in there. I searched dash pics of 2010 Honda Fit Sports & found pics of the 12v power supply but nothing to the right.
So now my question is - would someone please confirm that the circular area with an AUX & USB plug (arrow) is NOT standard equipment on the 2010 (non-nav) Fit Sport?
If this is indeed not standard, it would appear that the previous owner did some additional wiring to locate the USB & AUX plugs to a more convenient central location.

I had a 10 and the usb was in the glove box and the aux was on the radio. If there is a male end of the usb I would guess they ran it behind the dash to the upper glove box. Maybe for charging purposes. If I remember correctly, the radio is the same as the 13 and only reads fat32. I don't understand the female trs jack because the only way I can figure to hide it would be to hard wire the jack to the plug. Does the aux on the front of the radio work?
Good luck

Once the thought that the little circle with two outlets was possibly not OEM settled into my head, everything became much clearer. The wires behind the two outlets were absolutely not OEM. I think the fact that I really wanted to use both the USB & the aux from that central location affected my objectivity. The Bluetooth was ordered on Sunday & I planned to mount it between the ports & the 12v supply. Everything would be down there mostly out-of-view, yet very accessible. Now I've got to use the aux jack on the front of the radio - very ugly.
Sure hope so. Also, all the original wires & connectors were completely left alone - no bush-league splicing or weird mods. The original aux jack is behind steel on the back of the radio and not accessible at all. If there were any wires showing, I'd splice in the wire from below & be golden --- but not.
Thanks for the confirmation. Now I've just got to go back out & plug everything back in & get the radio back in the dash

could be quite possible that the previous owner had an aftermarket head unit at one time. mine came with two usb ports. I had to route to the glove box where the oem one was. the oem usb plug i tucked in behind the glove box and was of no use to me. the other usb cable hides behind the cup holders in the center console.
the previous owner may have made those plugs in the front and had those connected to the aftermarket radio. he then removed the radio to sell/trade it in and left those parts in and put the original radio back.
