I'm a dealer tech.
IMO Fits have been darn near bulletproof in terms of mechanical reliability with reasonable care and service......save for the occasional ignition coil failure/misfire, regular maintenance and nit-picky stuff like your broken armrest LOL.

I thought they were reliable enough to pick up a 2007 Sport with a very unusual problem and 200k on the odometer, without being able to test drive it beforehand..

I got it almost dirt cheap, fixed it up and put my GF in it.

I worry far less about this car having problems than the Saturn she was driving.

I don't understand the NYC argument but do this. First let me be clear. A Honda is just getting 😊 at 100k miles. 2nd, my insurance has me take new pictures of mods if I add so they are covered. So simple in NC that's what we do here. Mod away and post pix.

And to think I felt a bad about my 130k miles... Glad I found this thread and should help as motivation to fellow users with the same doubts.

OMG I woult buy a car pass 70 miles on it. But reading your comments now made me wonder. All of my american brand cars die around 100 miles.

Interesting to know my fit will be for life. I drive around 10 miles per year so by the time I get 400 miles it will past 40 years

Any advice to get my car runing for that long?

I wouldn't buy a Honda past 100k miles, but that's because I want to put at least 100k on it, not that it's worthless past 100.

10 miles a year? That's an expensive lawn ornament you've got!

Yes, I live in a small city but everything is 8 miles away and I work from home. And in mexico public transport it is one of the worst of the world(taxis and buses). There are more probability to get kill or at least diabetes from the adrenaline rush by bad drivers. The bus drivers get the minimun wage that is like 4 dollars a day, I cant blame them if you paid bad you would get bad service.

If you think this is expensive my dad own an Escalade he uses it once or twice a year. That is expensive, he also has three more trucks but he is retire so they just seat in the garage all day without any use.
