1.5 Turbo in Fit?

The 2016 Honda Civic has a turbo 1.5 engine, the same as the engine in the Fit. Any thoughts about swapping this engine into the Fit? Or, adding the turbo hardware to existing Fit engines?

Is it the exact same, or just another L15 engine? The engines between all three generations, though all 1.5L engines, are slightly different. That's why the first gen Fit only makes 107hp andthe third is rated at like 130hp. An engine swap should be possible. After all, if people can shoehorn a V6 into the engine bay, why not another engine of similar displacement? That said, it would probably be easier and more cost-efficient to just throw an aftermarket turbocharger or supercharger on there and tune it with FlashPro or KTuner.

I'm sure it will. They made the R18 and the L15 fit into the same bay. So i'm sure the new 1.5T will do just fine.
I'm surprised they haven't made a 1.5L along the lines of a B16. It would make a nice healthy 150-160 hp instead of the 30hp less. Now with transmissions being a 6sp.
Although I don't know how the CVT would work with a 7000-8000rpm engine.

We have a new car show here in Phoenix every year. Saw the 2016 Civic for the first time & it had the 174 (?) HP turbo 1.5 engine. For now, only available with the CVT tranny. Saw a road test on U Tube with the same car, and testers thought it was pretty good, even with the CVT. Said that Honda will come out with the 6 speed stick for this engine "in the future", probably in the coupe. I was impressed with the Civic, thought it was an Accord at first glance. That's what got me thinking of putting the turbo engine in my Fit.

Phoenix, you say? You should join us at Pavillions some time. Now that it's not balls hot you might get all three of us with Fits there at thd same time.

Go big or go home. Put in a V8 2-stroke!
