Short blurb at Edmunds: 2008 International Engine of the Year Competition Though look down to the 204hp 2.0L engine, not the BMW 3.0 turbo.
Where ARE the little (and reliable) 1.6L turbo 175hp engines in America? Why don't we get any here? (and don't mention VW/Audi -- we don't like living at the repair shop.) It's like we get wheezy 100hp econocars, or 250hp+ turbos, and nothing interesting between. btw, I saw the new WRX the other day, not as bad as the photos.

heh, the only company that could potentially provide in this regard WOULD be VW. I dunno about the 1.4 tsi in europe, but vw has been doing A LOT better here in the states, at least as far as consumer reports and my personal experience goes.;)
But i agree, we really need some more powerful fuel efficient engines to trickle down to more economically priced cars.
and i totally agree about the wrx, it looks worlds better in person. i think i actually LIKE it now!

That's a 2.0L non-turbo. I mean smaller turbo motor, wider torque band. Want that power down in the daily drivability area -- not revving the snot out of the engine.
And that's not turbo (looking for that wider power band) -- my point exactly, where are the small (1.xL) turbo motors. There are none here, as in, precisely zero.

But as far as production cars go.... nope. A turbo fit from the factory would be just plain sic! As long as they leave room for tunability...

lol, i googled for "BlueCell turbo" and the first hit was this thread... google is scary, given that your post was like just 2 hours ago...
BlueCell lives in Texas -- us Californians don't get to install a turbo on the Fit and then have it pass smog, legally...
