09 Fit Sport, 17x7.5 40 and 205/45R17, will it blend ?!

Hey folks, it's time for some tires/chrome wheels. But I can't close in on what sizes will look great but won't cause me to have to roll fenders, install suspension stuff, camber!

So, simple help is needed, will it or won't it work.... Even using Discount Tire/Tire Rack didn't make me comfy making an order.

I found a wheel I really like but tire size is a question mark (if you think the wheel size won't work, please say so!)

Wheels: Liquid Metal F5, 17X7.5 4-100.00 40 CSCHXX (chrome!)

Tires: taking a guess, 205/45R17

Will they work without modding the car?
If not, suggestions are welcome!

Thanks! Lisa W

I would put aftermarket wheels on a car without lowering it.

It will never look 'right.'

Do you mean you "wouldn't" put aftermarkets on...?

Would they look ok to you if both the wheels and tires were the same size as the factory sizes?

Thanks for your input!

My apologies, you're right, I wouldn't.

My thinking is that it is just a tough balance to make an aftermarket wheel have the same feel as an OEM wheel.

Stock wheels are at their best when they just complement the car or even just sort of blend & at their worst when they stand out in a "ewww" sort of way. Aftermarket wheels on stock cars often stand out not in an eww way, just rather in juxtaposition with the rest of the car.

I guess it's a matter of what looks good to whom. Back in the day, I had a Plymouth Tourismo '85, and I put Craigar chromes on it. To me, it was the bomb! I even lifted the rear end a bit. I guess I was going for a certain look.

Now, with my Fit, I want to bling the wheels with some chrome but because of the vehicles use, I can't lower it. (I haul a kayak and a bunch of heavy fishing equipment a few times a week.)

With that said, I'd love to know what will fit the Fit without suspension changes. Rolling fenders I might go for. Maybe. (Where would I get this done, anyway?)

Thanks !
Lisa
