Would 205/45/16 size tires be ok on the Fit?

Would this size rub? I think 17" wheels would look too big on this car...Does any one know what is the bolt pattern and the correct offset for the Fit?

Thanks!

I can't answer any of your questions except that I have seen a Fit with 17" wheels, and they do look a little too big. Honda is offering a 16" wheel and tire option on the Fit (maybe just the Sport?). I don't imagine you could go wrong if you get the same size they will be selling.

205/45/16 will work but if you go 17" then you have to run 205/40/17.

DP: If that message was for me, I only saw the car parked at the Embassy here. If I see it again, I will try to get a photo. The wheels might have been okay, but the tires were definitely not the right size. It looked like they were trying to turn it into some sort of off-road ride, but hadn't lifted the suspension yet.

I wouldnt go larger than a 16' on the fit, like mentioned above i think the 17" would look out of proportion..

go to the malaysian fit club forum, i think most of the people there use 17 inch rims and they got some pictures too .. after reading alot of article about them, i think 16 is the optimum size you can put on a fit..

Jazz with 17" wheels

This is a Jazz in Norway. It's lowered 7-8 cm. up front and 4-5 cm. at rear. It runs on 17" wheels and it has an overall Type R look.

Very nice. I havent seen too many black Fit's and since that is what I ordered, its nice to see how mine would look with some 17's and lowered. But anyone getting 17's should pretty much kiss performance goodbye since on a car like the Fit that is underpowered from the factory, 17's will only make things worse from a performance perspective.

Why would you make your car slower than it already is with 17's?

I would only use them for cruising or shows here or there. I mean I already have RG's and SA3R's LOL

Okay, I am officially confused. I understand putting a wheel/tire combo on a car that is bigger than stock would slow the car, because you are effectively lowering the overall gearing. If you keep the overall diameter the same, are you really effecting it that much? Reducing the amount of tire sidewall will make the steering a little sharper, for certain, but isn't the amount of rubber on the tire you are removing heavier than the metal/air of the wheel replacing it? That may not be true for all styles of wheels, but is it not for others? If done correctly, can't a bigger wheel/less sidewall combination improve the unsprung weight, and thereby improve handling and acceleration?
