picking this up for my niece who needs to get thru college.


well maintained, one owner fit.


he says it drives fine but does throw a CEL and has misfire in cyl 4 @90k and states he took it dealer and they couldn't find why it threw CEL. coil packs, plugs replaced.


I know I need codes to pinpoint problem and of course owner doesn't remember what codes are.


I asked him to look it up or go back to dealer to pull codes.


still on original O2 sensors.


still drives great.


what problems could be lurking or what should I be wary of??? if it drives fine, CEL is on, it passed inspection...


I do plan to have a diagnostic test done prior to purchase if he doesn't come thru.


actually since I have VIN, I will call dealer to find out myself.

My CEL came on as well with the same code and it turns out I needed a valve adjustment. I'd take the car to the dealer and have them check out the car.

What recall?

 

The CAT on these is weak, usually dead by 150K according to a honda tech friend of mine, he says its the ULEV rating that calls the cat bad when it drops below 98% function..

Valve adjust meant every 80 (ish) thousand miles will help with overall run ability.

 

The massive Takata airbag recall that includes many Fits. Honda will pay for a rental until replacements are available.
