Question Transmission mating compatibility?

Long story short, I've become familiar with rod knock and I am now ordering an engine to swap into my 2009 M/T. The lowest mileage ones I've found come from A/T models and I'm just wondering if anyone here knows if the transmission mating is different, necessitating a motor from a M/T donor car?

Thanks.

The engines are the same. The rear mating surfaces and bolt pattern are the same.

The M/T uses a pilot bushing installed in the center of the rear flange of the crank to support the input shaft of the trans and it uses a flywheel bolted to the rear flange of the crank and a clutch assembly then bolted to the flywheel to work.

The A/T simply uses a flex plate in place of the M/T's flywheel, and a torque converter is mated to the A/T in place of the M/T clutch. The torque converter is splined/seated in the front bellhousing part of the A/T first, and then the trans is bolted to the rear of the engine. The flex plate is then mated/bolted to the torque converter to work.

The only thing you will have to do with a A/T equipped engine, is to install a pilot bushing for your M/T input shaft.

Thanks very much. Great news since the lowest mileage engine from a M/T donor is about double from the ones I'm looking at buying.

The bright side of this situation: Now is as good a time as any to throw in the LSD I've always wanted!

There is actually a difference in the mating surfaces on the oil pans of the manual vs the automatic . So I ended up ordering a new one since the hole in the original oil pan is the reason for my swap in the first place.

I'm pretty sure you will need a ECU too.

Engine swap was a success! Only issue to iron out is the ABS is not working and the Amber ABS light is on in the dash. So we either messed up the wires, or didn't connect it correctly. Hopefully it's as simple as cleaning the sensor terminals.
