Losing torque

My 2007 (non-sport) Fit has started losing torque. It's not just cutting out at a certain RPM, but any time I try to accelerate beyond a very slow acceleration, the engine almost seems to disengage from the transmission (5-speed manual) and it revs really high without providing much torque at all. I'm not that mechanically knowledgeable, but my guess is either a flywheel or VTEC issue. Any idea what I should do?

Manual trans........ Clutch is slipping, time for replacement before it leaves you stranded.

x2 on what ezone said. These are the classic symptoms of a worn out clutch.

Thanks for the info. Is this something I could reasonably do myself with good instructions?

Gotta remove the transmission to access the clutch.
Some people can DIY this, others can't.

Think you can get this done in your driveway? Garage? Parking lot of your apartment?

Not with the tools I have available. I'll just get my trusted mechanic to do it. Thanks for the help!
