2007 Manual Clutch Judder Starting from 1st

When I start moving from a complete standstill atleast 70% of the time I get a judder as I engage the clutch. Its not that I dont know how to use a stick shift as I have driven one all my life.
The dealership said this could be due to heat damage (probably meaning mis-use). I am the second owner (recent purchase) so dont know how it was used up to now. Can anyone comment on what might be causing this and whether it should be covered under warranty ?
Thanks in advance.

It's the blasted soft motor mounts. Some days I swear they're made of bubble gum. Mine has NEVER been abused and it does this all the time. Either do a low-rpm engagement where the engine just falls to about 1000 rpm when the clutch is completely engaged (only slipping the clutch for about about a second, not giving enough time to buck), or a fuel-wasting heavy throttle launch. Anything in between and the engine just starts bouncing around.

Can you explain what you mean by the "motor mounts" Do you mean Engine Mounts and as such these should be covered by warranty yes ?
Or are these something that is attached to the clutch itself ?

mine does it too until the plates are warmed up. worse on humid mornings.

it doesn't bother me...ive had worse on my old 02 wrx long
time ago.

i just engage a tad higher in rpm than usual to heat up the
plate. as soon as the clutch is warmed up it's back to normal.

Mine does the same thing if i drive right after starting up. Giving a little more gas usually does the trick.

No difference when warm or cold

It judders anyway without it being cold,, so my question goes back to the "engine mounts" - has anyone else noticed these to be flimsy and the judder is more engine than clutch related ?

wonder if an engine torque dampener would help with the engine movement/clutch judder.

kenchan - my '01 impreza rs had a bear of a clutch too. especially as the clutch was needing replacement.

tofuman- i dont think the engine damper would help cause it's coming from the tranny (clutch). it might even make it worse.

on the 02 wrx, the clutch was only like 10k miles when it started..and was like that till the day i sold it.
