Automatic locks

Ok, so I just got a new to me 2008 Fit Sport MT w/65k miles -- I have been searching like crazy to learn as much about the car as I can, but I still have a question regarding automatic locks and whether the 2008 MT has them? I see mention of how to program auto locks in an AT, but nothing for an MT.

I noticed while working on my rear hatch issue that the car kept locking itself, even while I was inside crawling around. I had the key laying next to me, and I popped the hatch from the inside and the alarm went off! Is it supposed to lock itself after a specific time? I have read of others experiencing random locking and attributing it to a failed actuator so I am curious if I am seeing symptoms of the same... am afraid to test with keys in ignition for fear of being locked out.

So my question is: does your 2008 model MT automatically lock when you get out of the car?

Well, I am pretty sure my strange lock behavior is due to a faulty actuator -- the locks will lock and unlock while I am in the car and in all my searches and looking through the manual I see no mention of a 2008 being able to lock itself with the keys in the car, but mine does... sure wish the sport had a key lock for the hatch.
