My first post, Hatch Locking

Hello,

Hopefully this is in the right place. I just bought my 09 fit sport 5sp man and will make a post with some pics later on.

I cannot lock or unlock the hatch of the fit. Its a sport so i dont think i have the key hole. in order to open the hatch i poped of the small plastic cover on the inside and flipped the white locking mechanism. I dont hear the hatch locking solenoid when i lock it. Anyone have any insight, or ran into this problem before?

It sounds like you're pretty well underway with troubleshooting; the power lock mechanism isn't operating for some reason. I might start by checking with a multimeter to see if power is getting to the lock solenoid/motor (which probably requires removing the inside plastic panel from the hatch to access). If there's no power, then I'd guess the problem is a broken wire somewhere between the actuator and the rest of the car, maybe where the wire bundle goes through the hinge area of the hatch. If there's power, then logically the actuator is broken. (That is, of course, assuming there isn't some obvious problem like a disconnected linkage between the actuator and the lock.)

The outside handle on my 10 Sport has gotten stiff, so I squirt some WD in to loosen it up till I get motivated enough to tear it apart. The reason I mention this is if it's stuck in one position or the other, it might interfere with the power mechanism.
