Weird fender liner retainer clip for 2012 Fit?
Hey guys!
I recently bought a 2012 Honda Fit. I was working in the front driver side wheel wheel area and managed to remove one of the fender liner retention clips. When I tried to pop it back in it fell right back out. Is it possible there is a nut or something that somehow goes behind it? That seems like it would be an extreme PITA.
Well, this clip is weird. The hole is 10mm but the clip itself is square and has a Phillips head screw that goes into the clip and mounts flush instead of being a regular push/pull kind of deal. I've searched all over online and cannot find this part.
Will any 10mm retention clip work or is there something special about this clip where I will need to go to the dealer to get the proper part? I don't have any of these handy so will have to order something that will work.
Thanks for any help.

This thread appears to reference the correct part;
https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/3rd-...ner-clips.html
PART # 91514-TG1-T01
What's weird is I only see this part # referenced in literature for the 3rd generation FIT. It's not clear to me why it's not listed on the 2nd generation car parts list, I have one on each side of the car in a couple of places that match so it seems unlikely that it's ever been replaced before.
It's not yet clear if there is a retainer nut that goes on the fender for the screw to thread into, I will find out this weekend.

yah, why honda doesnt just use standard pop rivets (the plastic tabs you pull up the center part and it releases) is a mystery. that is the same POS tab that broke off my lower engine shroud on my GK recently.
