Morimoto Fogs XB LEDs

Anyone running these? Are they plug-n-play after placing them in Honda housing? Did you add the Lamin-X yellow film option? Good light coverage but not in the eyes of oncoming drivers? THX

I almost installed these in my miata when i cracked a fog. You can Google miata.net morimoto miata nc to find some threads. They get good reviews but at 5 times the cost of an oe equivalent i decided against it since i rarely use fogs.

At $130 ea + S/H, they are pricey. The OEM has to be bought as a complete unit (grill piece) around $210 ea + S/H. Mine are on anytime the headlights are activated.

For the miata they are about 170 plus s/h. I got an oe equivalent for about 40 shipped with Prime. The lense assembly is easily replaced on the mazda.

Hey spike55,

Not sure if you’re still searching for the answer to your question but, I installed those on my gf ‘14 Honda Accord 2dr Coupe. Here are the pics though. She loves these....

S Pile (no innuendo intended): Thanks for responding. So, you applied the Lamin-X yellow film over the lens? I like the illumination pattern as seen from behind the steering wheel. Here in PA, we have fog (live near the mighty Susquehanna River) and we have deer, so I need all the fog penetrating light I can get with good side of the road illumination.

I applied Head Light Armor's yellow film on the OEM fogs with OEM bulbs and the film is discoloring / blistering in the middle of the lens - most on passenger side.

Thanks again Steve

Yeah. I put the Lamin-X yellow film on the fogs. I wasn’t sure at first if I were going to get the yellow film or not. But, the light output is pretty nice and bright. I’m thinking about rewiring my fogs to my parking lights, just so I’m able to drive around with just the fogs on. I haven’t had any peeling, cracking, bubble spot or any problems at all with these fog lights. I’ve had them for about two and a half years now. I did have to re-aim the fogs a bit. When I first installed them, the they were aimed more toward the ground vs up and outward. Other than that, I haven’t any other problems.

Steve: How sharp is the cut off? Can you see definite line where it is dark above and illuminated blow? I don't want to blind oncoming drivers.

The cutoff is amazingly sharp. You could definitely see where the cutoff is, even with the headlights on. I’ll have to get a pic for you of the cutoff line. You won’t have to worry about blinding other drivers. Like I said, I had to re-aim the fogs a little bit but, I think you’ll like the cutoff. Even though I have the Lamin-X film on, the cutoff from the sides and front still give off a prism of yellow, green and amber color.

Not sure what a "facelift" GE is versus 09-11 GE but I guess you mean it won't work for mt plain vanilla USA '11 Sport?

Yeah no problem. I bought them when they first released and returned them after. Told them they had to specify. Lol

I'm running them and they have been very good. Unfortunately, I lost one of them when the bolt somehow undid itself and it flew out going 70 on the highway (didn't know I had lost it til I got to my destination). I definitely had to modify the housing some when installing (slightly wider than the stock housing), perhaps I got the wrong version of the lights (I have an 09 sport), but in the end I got them to fit without too much issue. I did install one clear and one with yellow, and the yellow is definitely an improvement in foggy weather, the white washes out.

How did you mod the brackets to make these fit? I just bought a pair and have run into the same issue of them not actually fitting where the stock fogs go. Problem is that all the fittings are for the 2012 Sport and not the years before the mid-cycle refresh that Honda always does on their cars. If you can share pics that would be huge, thanks in advance!
