Weird Electrical problems
Hello,
I have a 2009 Fit and recently had the rear hatch repaired after an accident. I got it back and it was fine until the next evening. I was driving home and it was cooler out so I had the heater on, headlights, and iPod in the USB aux. The headlights would flicker and the iPod would cut out when I would hit a decent bump. One time the steering icon came on and off for the power steering. I made it home but it was weird.
This morning I started it and the radio was off and required the code to turn it on. I drove a bit and the “D” in the cluster started blinking, when I put it in “P” the “D” kept blinking and the CEL came on. The CEL stayed on for a while but is gone now and nothing happened the last time I drove it.
Any ideas? Is their a ground I could check on the hatch? I noticed a lot of reports of alternator issues on here - could that be causing all these?

You have a loose connection somewhere and it is not in the hatch. I would start by looking at battery cables both plus and ground. Having to reset the radio says that at sometime you had a loss of power to it.

I agree. The radio wanted the access code after I changed / disconnected my battery. Start with the battery connections.
The other time all of the bells & whistles go off is after the state required safety inspection where they hook up to the OBDII port and check for codes. I have to start it, drive it, turn it off, start up and and drive. That usually gets it back to normal ('11 Sport AT).
