Recirculation mode on the HVAC Unit

One thing I hate about the Fit is that Honda did not include a recirculation motor for the HVAC unit. It uses a lever instead... My 1986 Accord had a motor, just like my 1994 Civic...

I know the Chinese Fit uses a motor instead of a lever. The chinese Fit does not have an auto climate control either.

Anyone did such a conversion. I guess it would be really simple just to add a recirculation motor.

Are you asking to change a two position switch to another two position switch? What benefit would that have? Is the lever too difficult to move?

The lever is just ugly. I like to have a button with a LED that reminds me the recirculation mode is on.

I guess the reason they put a lever was because it's cheaper and most people didn't care.

15 hours of labor and $1000 for parts??
I think I would just break the lever off and live without the thing.

Good solution. But first leave it set on outside air. Oh why do people want to recycle cabin air?

Or if the lever is too unsightly to the OP consider trading cars to something with an LED.

I guess I would do that too if I wanted to convert to a full automatic climate control.

That's not the case obviously.

I have auto circulation button on my other car and strongly dislike it. The motor whines around a bit and I am waiting for a major repair. And never quite sure It works correctly.

Manual lever has very positive action and is bulletproof.

That said, the DIY thread converting to automatic climate control was awesome. Cost of our used Fit Sport with 64k miles was not much higher than the conversion cost especially if you included hours.
